The general concensus is that if you want truly waterproof panniers, go for the Ortliebs, or if your wallet can’t stretch that far, Karrimor Aquashield would seem like a cheaper alternative (there’s not a lot of difference between the price of Ortlieb and Carradice Super-C panniers). Carradice panniers, although very good, are only showerproof at best, necessitating the use of binliners if you want to keep things dry!
