After uploading my scans and printing the exception report, what does “inactive barcode ” mean?

It means that you have either scanned or keyed in a barcode that is not in your collection. Go to the shelf and look for the item by checking for the previous active barcode and the next active barcode. If the book is there, a copy needs to be added if there is a pre-existing MARC record. If a MARC record needs to be created, first try to pull one down from the UNION using ‘selected databases’ in cataloging. If you still do not find it, contact Media Services. Don’t forget to realize that the numbers for your holdings on the Collection Statistics Report change when you add copies to your database!
