After “recomputing record numbers” it seems I have lost some QSOs, or at least the record number show in the QSO entry is lower that before. Am I losing QSOs when recomputing the record numbers ?
YOU ARE NOT losing QSOs at all !!!!!! It’s simply that when you recompute record numbers the file is also renumbered, and the possible record numbers that were deleted are no longer in the database…. I’ll try to explain it with an example. • You enter 10 QSOs…they are numbers 1 to 10 • You delete record numbers 4 and 5 (So you have only 8 QSOs in the log, numbers 1 to 3 and 6 to 10) • You recompute record numbers…now you have the same 8 QSOs, but records number are 1 to 8 Also, occasionally and under certain circumstances (importation of files, etc) it could happen that there are gaps in the numbers of records, and when recomputing record numbers these gaps are removed, showing then the real number of QSOs. So, don’t worry at all…the real number of QSOs is always OK after recomputing record numbers and all your QSOs are there. Q) When entering QSOs, after entering the callsign, the frequency or the mode it takes very long to change to the following field making the QSO input ve
