After passing the tests which type of cranes will I be certified to operate?

Many states, and companies, & employers are starting to require their crane operators to become certified by an accredited entity on the specific type crane they will operate. When referring to “Hydraulic” or “Telescopic” boom cranes, the term “specific type crane” was previously separated by tonnage. Less than 17.5 ton was the small telescopic boom crane and more than 17.5 ton was the large telescopic boom crane in August of 2006 this was changed. Now the tonnage of a crane is no longer a factor. Small telescopic boom crane is now referred to as a “Fixed Cab” (operators station does not swing with the boom) and a large telescopic boom crane is referred to as a “Swing Cab” (operators station or cab swings with the boom) Washington requires crane operators to have a minimum number of hours of crane operating experience and crane related experience.
