After my grant is awarded, can I rebudget between categories without prior approval from NCI?
Yes, up to a 25% variance from total costs (that is, you may rebudget between categories, both direct and indirect costs). For example, if your total costs are $200,000 per year, you may rebudget up to $50,000 from one category, such as personnel, to another category, such as supplies.
