After losing my job through a downsizing, I signed up with a couple of temporary agencies for work in the accounting field, my career field. How should I explain temp work on my resume?
The easiest thing to do is to create a section on your resume under work experience called, “Accounting positions, Temporary”. Under that, list some of the major companies you have worked for in the temporary assignments and the accomplishments or responsibilities in those positions-just as you would if these were full-time regular positions. My job search has come to a total dead end. I am 44 years old and have 16 years of experience in advertising. I successfully managed a group of 11 people in my last job and I was let go more than 7 months ago due to budget cuts. My networking and cold calling hasn't helped. I am getting worried about my financial situation now, but I love Birmingham and I don't want to move. Any ideas? I have several ideas, one of those being that you may HAVE to consider moving.
