After installing the sims, I still have a CEL. What gives?
If you had a CEL (check engine light) prior to installing the O2 simulators, you either need to clear the code with a scanner or drive the car a bit. The PCM (powertrain control module, computer) needs about a week to “learn” that the O2 simulators are OK. Simply disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery typically will not clear the code because the code is emissions related. If the code still exists after a week, use a scanner to clear the code and everything will be normal again.
