After installing new Schrödinger software, Python doesn run. Do I need to download and install Python?
Starting with Schrödinger Suite 2007, Python is no longer a separately installed product, but is included in mmshare. If you run the command $SCHRODINGER/machid, you will notice that Python is listed as a module in the products section, so there is no need to download and install Python separately. Python errors can result from installing new major release software in the same directory as for a previous release. We recommend that you always install new software releases in a new directory.
