After I turn the unit on, how long should it take for it to acquire satellites and be able to start to navigate?
It may take 1-2 minutes after you start the unit for it to see any satellites and therefore begin to navigate. This is especially true if the unit has been turned off, then moved any significant distance and then turned on again. This is common when you travel by plane somewhere and then turn the unit on in a different state.
