This card is non-renewable, because it reflects your status as a Conditional Permanent Resident; and in contrast to Permanent Residence, this status expires within two years of receipt. Instead of renewing the card, you must request that the Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) remove the conditions on your Permanent Residence. The period of Conditional Permanent Residence is like some sort of testing period, after which you must prove to USCIS that your marriage was not fraudulent and entered to in order to receive any immigration benefit. After applying for the removal of the conditions, you will be summoned to an interview along with your partner, where the Government will certify that, indeed, your marriage to United States Citizen or Resident was bona fide. Afterwards, you will receive your Permanent Resident Card, which you must renew every ten years.
