After I do a “Check/Repair,” the report contains the following error message: “Family link 4206 has an invalid link type.” What is a family link, and how do I correct the error?
A family link record links individual records to the families in which they are children. You cannot find family link records by number. To correct the error, try these strategies: • Restore a previous backup that does not contain the problem. • Use the Check/Repair option. (From the File menu, select Check/Repair. Then click Check/Repair.) Please be aware that some data may be lost, such as relationships, links to notes or sources, and so forth. • Export the records to a GEDCOM file, and then import the GEDCOM file to a new database. This corrects most errors, but it will not restore the relationships and links to notes or sources that were damaged.
