After fitting a Hiclone my performance seems to have improved but economy is worse what would cause this?
The main reason for these symptoms is that for whatever reason the engine is running a little leaner than it should be (could have blocked injectors not allowing full fuel delivery for instance) which funnily enough will make it use more fuel to start with than it should because you have to hold the accellerator pedal down further to generate enough torque to maintain your speed in any given situation. When a Hiclone is installed it improves airflow dynamics and would cause the engine to lean out even more so, thus to maintain speed you need to use a little more accellerator pedal (more fuel) to do so because the air/fuel ratio is out. However when you do go to accellerate the mixture goes to a rich state which is when an engine in its correct state of tune tends to waste most of its fuel so now with the hiclone installed the engine pulls better because the strong swirl generated by the Hiclone product atomises and spreads the fuel more evenly giving more power and torque during this p
