your right mate they are the same team,they just changed it from footscray bulldogs,to western bulldogs for marketing reasons because the west of Melbourne has really grown outwards and they wanted to represent everyone from the west-and it was a ploy which has payed off in terms of their survival in the AFL,especially when it wasn’t that long ago they were rattling tins to stay alive,they are still at the western oval and are definately the same team-and to answer the question its 1 day flag in 1954-with charlie Sutton as captain.
