I have a 1998 Chevy Silverado with the 350 V8 in it. It already has a true duel exhaust system on it, though its not loud really at all unless your standing behind the tips. I was wondering if it would be more of a benefit to buy two new mufflers from Flowmaster or Magnaflow and if so which ones. Or if it would make much of a difference if I just put diffrent tips on the existing pipes. A: I own a shop, and a couple of 350 (built) engines. There is a trade off between flow, and noise. The louder it is, the better it will flow. The Flowmaster Series makes several different mufflers that work really well, and one must determine how loud you want it to be. Also; If you have cat converters, then you may want to look into replacing them with some free flowing ones. Personally I think the 50 series would be a better flowing muffler for a truck than the 40 series. They also make an outlaw series that is made for race only applications.
