Advice for new challenge entrants?
• Follow the program that Bill outlines in ‘Body For Life’. We made a trial run of the program in the fall of 2000 and fell off the wagon within a few weeks. Our results were mediocre — we were not on a pathway to dramatic change at all. Our approach the first time around was “We’ll modify Body for Life a little to fit our lifestyle.” That little modification turned into making many changes to both the nutrition and training program to allow us to keep doing the same things we had been doing for years without the results we wanted. It wasn’t until we followed the program in Bill’s book to a T that we achieve results beyond our expectations. • Write down your goals. Before we started the Body for Life Challenge in January 2001, we created a document in MS Word that included our before pictures; overall goals; our specific health, appearance, and fitness goals; expected obstacles and challenges; and our plans for overcoming each obstacle. We printed a dozen copies of our Goals document
