Advice for a freshman, what do I need to know about High School?
High school is what you make it. There WILL be days where you are so overwhelmed and think you can’t do this but you can. There will be days where everything goes horribly wrong. You’ll probably smell smoke in the bathrooms (this is less likely if you go to an all girls school and more likely if you go to an all boys school. It’s not sexist- If you went to my school, you’ll see that the boys bathrooms usually smell of pot smoke at least once a day.) The key to passing is doing all of your homework. That’s all I did for freshman World History and I got 90’s in that class! If you plan on taking any honors/AP’s down the road, show the teacher that you mean business. If you do that and your grades are still low, try not to get frustrated, it’s a big transition that’ll take some time but it’s not as scary as most think.
