14. How often is the TPRI administered? The recommended schedule for the administration of the assessment differs for each grade. • In Kindergarten, the screening and inventory sections should be administered at the middle and end of the school year. • In Grade 1, administration should take place at the beginning and end of the school year. With first-grade students, teachers also may monitor instructional progress by administering the inventory section in the middle of the school year. • In Grade 2, administration of the screening section should take place at the beginning of the school year. The inventory section then may be administered at the beginning, middle, and end of the school year to monitor progress in reading development. • A Grade 3 assessment is in late developmental stage and due to be implemented in the 2004-2005 school year.
