The time taken to compare and synchronise address book fields is quite insignificant. The process slows down when LinkWise has to create or modify a user in the GroupWise address book. Currently the GroupWise address book OLE-based API can sometimes be slow when making additions and modifications. Address book synchronisation takes too long! You may have the ‘Backup Address Book’ option checked in the address book options tab. If this option is checked, a copy of the GroupWise personal address book you are synchronising against is created prior to synchronisation. This process can be quite lengthy. Nonetheless, we strongly recommend that you make a backup of your address book prior to synchronisation. If you find having this option checked takes just too long, you could also manually make a backup of your address book using the ‘Edit|Copy To’ menu option in the GroupWise address book.
