According to the band theory, what does a good conductor have?

Ulex replies I am delighted that, at this stressful time, a sense of humour has not deserted you! Yes it is a sensible question both scientifically and musically! Scientifically, in a conductor there should be a band which extends between atoms, and this band should have some electrons in it but not be full. When a potential is applied, electrons are promoted into a part of the band which extends between atoms and a current flows. Musically, in my opinion, a conductor should have a style which lets everyone know when to start and stop and which beat of the bar one is supposed to be on. Anything else is a bonus! Presumably you know the joke about the railway employee who commits a murder but does not die in the electric chair because he is such a poor conductor! Identify any hazards, assess the risks from these hazards, and then decide appropriate control
