According to MySpace, my profile was viewed 10 times since yesterday, but StatSync only counted 4 views. Why is that?
If the same person visits your MySpace page multiple times in the same 5-minute period, we only count the visit once. So two visits, 4 minutes apart are counted together, as one “continuing” visit. Even Anonymous visitors are assigned StatSync Anonymous ID numbers and can be tracked as “continuous” pageviews. Another reason is that you might have placed the StatSync code too low in your profile page. The visitor’s broswer has to process the StatSync code in order for the visit to be counted. The visitor doesn’t necessarily need to scroll all the way down to the bottom to see the StatSync logo, but it must be there. If your visitor is on a slow dial-up connection, and your visitor clicks on the red X button to stop the browser from processing your profile page half way through, then, yes, the visit might not be counted. Likewise, if your visitor clicks on a link that takes them off of your profile page before the browser can finish processing your profile page, then the visit might not
