This FAQ describes how to use Thunderbird on a PWF computer to post to newsgroups (most of it also applies to Thunderbird on other suitably configured systems). In order to post an article to a newsgroup using Thunderbird, you need first to create a News account using a suitable news server (see FAQ: How do I configure my software to give access to Usenet News?). On the PWF, you may already have a News account linking to the old University news server, in which case you can simply create a second account using the news server of your choice. You then need to “subscribe” to the newsgroup (which need only ever be done once), after which you can construct and send your article.
