About the AKC DNA Test…?

To answer your questions. No you dont have to have any DNA test done if all your looking for is a PAL/ILP slip. DNA is only required if the stud dog is used many times as such. Here is a link to the AKC ILP/Pal requirements and where & how to down load the required applications! http://www.akc.org/contact/answer_center… Scrool down on the page until you see the right area concerning this ok! Good luck. ADD; To clearify what AKC requires for DNA. AKC will and does not require breed specific testing for a dog to determine what breed a dog is. AKC does require only DNA testing and having that on record if a sire/stud dog is used many times as such. And it is very usefull to determine parentage of a litter if a question arises as to if the entire litter has been sired by this 1 stud in question. As far as to determine breed AKC could care less about those test!
