About American College Fees (For An English Student)?

Americans shake their heads in amazement at the recent UK protests over tuition hikes. Tuition in UK is so incredibly cheap, Americans can’t believe it. Be prepared for a big shock. You have to prove you have sufficient funds for all school expenses, plus all living expenses, plus your return transportation to your own country in order to obtain a student visa. Proof of savings, investments, and your parents income sufficient to support you while away at school is mandatory. You & your parents should plan on needing at least US$250,000 ($500,000 for Ivy League, top schools or living in more expensive cities). The number of universities charging over $50,000/yr for tuition has leaped logarithmically! Don’t count on any financial aid. Only about 8% of foreign students get financial aid, unless they got something from home country. You will not be eligible for any student loans overseas, though perhaps your parents could borrow some of what you might need. Students are strictly forbidden
