DIRECWAY (DirecDUO) is a “one-way” Internet satellite system. The uploading or transmitting of any data (i.e. sending an email) must still travel over telephone lines, and only the download or return information from the Internet is delivered via satellite. Pegasus ExpressSM is a two-way Internet satellite system that transmits and receives data via satellite. Unfortunately the equipment is not compatible with the requirements of a two-way system. In the case of DirecDUO, subscribers can continue to use the antenna to receive the DIRECTV signals and add the Pegasus ExpressSM antenna for their high speed Internet access. Or with an optional mount for the Pegasus ExpressSM antenna, subscribers can move the DIRECTV electronics to that antenna – in effect creating a “new” dual service antenna.
