A student has broken his wrist and can’t write his exams – does he need to go to the Disability Service?
No. The remit of the Disability Service does not extend to students with temporary disabilities. Providing the student with extra time and a scribe or a computer may be appropriate. Your department should seek approval from the Clerk of Senate before making necessary arrangements (see Calendar Regulations). The student can apply to the Registry Crisis Fund if financial assistance is required for taxis etc.
