A recent NIP flyer accuses the interim council of being an inexperienced governing body. Is this true?
A- The members of the interim council have a great deal of experience from having served on various boards, advisory committees and other civic organizations. These seven people are extremely concerned about Sneads Ferry’s future and they are working very hard to protect it. They are doing so because they feel it is the right thing to do. They are not getting paid for their service and they do not plan to be paid if Sneads Ferry becomes incorporated. While it is true that none of them are professional politicians, they are our friends and neighbors who live, and in most cases, work in Sneads Ferry (most for generations) and they and their families will be directly affected by decisions made or not made for our village. These are people that we pass on the street, in the Post Office, in Food Lion, at Riverview, at Trade Mart, etc… They are easily accessible and very approachable and have a vested interest in what happens to our village in the future.
