You are talking of rules and ethics at a time when people and rulers alike have lost any contact with these and got reconciled to the situation, sir! When charges were made against Mr Maran’s serious lapses as Minister at the Centre by Raja, we wondered how the party chief who sent the nephew to the central post could disown responsibility for the lapse, as if Mr Maran was a third person! He was very much their party men at that time and the role played by him could not have been unknown to the party. But the whole thing was thrown out of the agenda once the family feud was patched up and Mr Maran given a second lease of power at the centre by the same chief. What about the murder case of Mr Tha Pandiyan ex Minister, in which the CM’s son was implicated and the progress of the case suffered obvious fate.
