A pushy mobile phone salesman rang from another network about a new, cheap mobile deal that sounded good. I agreed, but am regretting it. What can I do?
Chances are the salesman was a third-party seller, giving the impression they were calling on behalf of a major mobile phone network. They can use tactics such as offering a ‘free’ mobile phone handset to encourage people to take up deals, but might not make it clear exactly what the deal entails. Once you get tied into these mobile deals, it is very expensive to get out of them. You can end up being tied into two contracts, one of which could be expensive. Do not agree to these offers when someone calls. If it is a legitimate offer, there is no harm calling back when you’re ready to switch.
