A lot of schools across the state have mobile classrooms/trailers. Whats wrong with trailers?
Mobile classrooms have been one way school districts have dealt with lack of adequate space to house all their students. They can be expensive over the long-term because they wear out and must be replaced. Trailers are a short-term solution to a long-term problem. Iredell County has the highest ratio of mobile units of the 100 counties in North Carolina. When children have to walk to their classes in mobile units, they are often subjected to weather and may lose classroom time walking the extra distance. With adequate school facilities, mobile classrooms become less necessary.
