A local landowner has fenced off a path that is well used by local people, and has put up a sign saying No trespassers. What can I do about it?
Landowners should not put up fences or signs to obstruct people from exercising their access rights and the local authority has power to remove signs like these, and to remove obstructions and recover the cost from the landowner. Contact your local authority Access Officer and ask him to take action. If you are not happy with his response, get in touch with ScotWays and we will see if we can help (see contact details).
