• AH: There are plenty of cross-platform software titles, programs available for both Macs and Windows users — including the very one you named. For example: LotusNotes, Microsoft Word, FileMaker Pro, Excel, QuarkXPress, PowerPoint, PageMaker, Illustrator, 4D, Photoshop, Freehand, Acrobat, html (Netscape/Internet Explorer/AOL), Media100, Director, and Quicken, to name a few. All of these programs and many more are “cross-platform” — the Mac versions can read and use most files created on a PC, and the Mac can save files in a format which a PC can read. You can easily take your work home from the office Mac to your home PC (or visa versa). Why is this so easy? For one, reading a PC floppy disk is a built-in feature of all Macs since 1988.
