A delegation of seven dignitaries from Danyang visited Auburn…why were they here?
The group was here on a goodwill mission. The seven individuals, who represented government, education and industry officials, toured the City of Auburn, Auburn University, and met with faculty, students and administrators. While here, the mayor of the City of Danyang signed two agreements. The first establishes a friendly cooperative relationship between the City of Auburn and the City of Danyang. The second established an agreement to develop a proposal for an Auburn University campus in Danyang. The stage for these agreements was set last fall when a small Auburn University delegation visited the City of Danyang and the surrounding region to learn more about its people, culture and economy, and met with city and provincial officials.
