A common question: Why does painted, sealed or stained wood rot and peel?
Wood is a natural substance with a long life cycle when protected from the weather while inside the tree. Once removed these separate pieces of wood are subject to warping, cracking and the absorption of any wetness available in search of the oils, insecticides and preservatives found in its natural environment. If a top coating, such as paint stains or sealers, is applied it encapsulates the wood and entraps any absorbed moisture, this prevents dampness from evaporating and causes the wood to hold the moisture and it begins to soften and rot. If the wood cannot breathe it holds wetness, this is why “sealed” wood rots. The Solution: Apply a penetrating oil based treatment into the wood allowing the wood to breathe and moisture to evaporate out. These oils will also reduce cracking and warping. Because our treatment is not encapsulating and moisture will not be held inside, there is nothing to peel and your deck will always be beautiful. We guarantee this year after year! Fences and oth
