Only projects that have already been approved for rehabilitation loans are provided grants under the Lead Hazard Reduction Program to mitigate lead hazards. However, on a case-by-case basis, alternative financing may be provided, especially if there is a referral from Los Angeles County on the lead poisoning incident.
