The CQC will use the information it receives about incidents to help build up a picture of each service and the regulated activities it provides. These will feed into the Quality Risk Profiles which the CQC is creating for every NHS provider. The information will also contribute to the judgement framework to identify risks to people; continuously monitor that services are complying with the law; continue to look at general reporting levels; and carry out specific analysis to explore identified concerns.
