As an FBI terrorism agent he testified in the trials of those responsible for the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center and the 1994 trial of the “Blind” Sheikh Rahman conspiracy to attack several New York City landmarks. His ten years of fighting terrorism with the FBI were punctuated when he witnessed the attacks on the World Trade Center on 9/11/01 from the window of the Federal building in downtown Manhattan. After being called to the scene, he, with fellow agents and detectives, narrowly escaped as the south Trade Center tower collapsed.
Since ending government service he has acted as an executive and consultant to Think Tanks and conducted numerous interviews on national television and radio to include The O’Reilly Factor, Greta VanSusteren, Lou Dobbs, Geraldo Rivera and nationally syndicated radio. Steve has also appeared on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams as one of the nations few experts on a radical-fundamentalist group based in Pakistan. In 2007 he appeared in the award winning PBS series, “America at a Crossroads”.
He has dedicated his life to translating his experiences to gain a better and broader understanding of national security. At the core of Steve’s effort is the belief that the informed public is a better voter leading to a stronger and more progressive democracy. He will always attempt to address the subject of national security absent cultural and national bias. less
