Parenting, clinical therapy
Degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Sociolgy
My Expertise: I am an advocate of attachment parenting, and use the theory to raise my two children. I have done research on and practice co-sleeping. During the course of my professional work, I taught parenting education classes on a weekly basis, focusing on proper nutrition, child development, and basic parenting skills.
I have worked with and researched children diagnosed with autism and autism-spectrum disorders. In my professional work, I have provided community and in-home support to both children and families dealing with autism and its effects.
I enjoy cooking and developing new kid-friendly versions of my family's favorite recipes for my two children.
Experience: I started my professional writing career in 2010. I have experience in child development, parenting, social relationships and mental health, enhanced by my job experience as a clinical therapist and parent educator. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
As a clinical therapist, my area of expertise is rehabilitating juvenile sexual offenders. I also work directly with the families of many clients to assist in reintegrating them to home and community. I provided in-home assistance to teenage and first time parents, as well as teaching basic parenting concepts through weekly classes. I have also provided school and community support to children diagnosed with autism and autism-spectrum disorders.
Currently a part-time stay-at-home mom and advocate of attachment parenting, I enjoy gaining "field experience" by parenting my two sons, ages 2 1/2 and 9 months.
