How much is a violin?

Violins can get really pricey! A good one for beginning would be around $200-$250. (as mentioned before). As for rosin, there are two kinds of rosin: dark and light. Darker rosin is more sticky. Make sure you scrape the rosin first to make it “powdery”. That’s what helps the bow give the violin a good sound. You might have to put on more rosin than usual when you first buy it. Apparently, there’s rosin for the different seasons… not too knowledgeable on the subject but there’s a link below for all things rosin. Get a really good shoulder rest! Some people like sponges or foam, but I prefer a Kun brand shoulder rest. It depends on the person. Try a couple to see what’s best for you. Also try out your violin at the shop before buying. The luthier will be able to help you on making suggestions for a good violin based on what your preferences are. Good luck!
