Altruism is the selfless concern for the welfare of others. What does this have to do with dumping these acquaintances? I think this is self preservation. You have your reasons for ending these relationships that you thought were intrusive and don’t have any reason to feel any remorse. Why would these acquaintenances be hurt? I don’t understand.
