Can I base my HRA contributions on the number of hours an employee works? In essence, can I make monthly changes to whether an employee receives their HRA contribution?
Not currently. When you create an HRA for an employee you are responsible for funding it on a monthly basis through the course of the entire plan year, regardless of how many hours an employee works. The only situation in which you can end HRA payments in a plan year is in the event of employee termination.
