What is the average salary of a vet?
Well it does matter where you live but it also depends how long you’ve been practicing, if you own your own practice, if you are in a rural or urban area, if you have partners, and if you are specialist. It also matter how much you have to pay back in student loans, financing on your clinic, and the cost of your staff. Pay varies so widely, it’s really hard to generalize. A registered vet tech is someone who has had about two years of schooling and passed a licensing exam. They make far less than vets but far more than unregistered techs, who are often paid close to minimum wage but often have no training other than on-the-job and cannot perform certain procedures that registered ones can.
