Someone who records verbatim, either by machine or pen shorthand, the words spoken in a proceeding of a which a permanent record is being kept. What does it require to be a verbatim reporter. The ability to write shorthand at a miminum 180 wpm, a good command of the English language, dedication, hard work, the ability to work irregular hours and a strong sense of responsibility.
