What is a unibody on a vehicle?
A unibody vehicle basically means that the floor boards are an integral part of the vehicle’s frame. In older construction, there is a full frame and the engine, transmission, body, etc. bolts onto the frame. In a typical unibody car there are bits of metal tubing here and there welded to the floors (and the main sheet metal comprising the body of the car) which together form the supporting structure. To do a body lift, you put spacers between the frame and the floor/body at the mounting points. Since a unibody does not have a separate frame with body mounts, you can’t do that. How about a suspension lift??
