Should i get a Nikon 80D or Canon D400??

D80 I admit it depends to a large extent on taste. I own a D80, and have two good friends with 400D’s. Really there is very very little difference in picture quality. Even if they have the same lens (like a third party lens) they differences are hard to notice, and what differences there are, are subjective. But here are some reasons that make me like the D80 more: The Nikon viewfinder offers .094x magnification vs the Canon’s 0.8. For me the viewfinder image is quite visibly bigger and brighter. The Nikon has a top LCD screen. It means it’s easier on battery life by not wasting the photo preview screen for reading off settings. The Nikon has 11 Auto focus points vs the Canon’s 9. Personally I do not think that is signifficant though. Both the Nikon and Canon offer matrix metering, but the Nikon offers spot metering as well. That is a huge plus if you want to photograph a subject that is brighter / darker than the background. I also like the Nikon’s D-lighting in camera editing option.
