Are Snickers currently vegetarian?
The reason you are finding conflicting information is that in 2007 Mars annouced that it was going to use rennet from an animal source They claimed it was impossible to get a reliable source of vegetable rennet and vegetarians were happy to eat animal slaughter by-products anyway They retracted that strategy after a campaign from the veggie society. All of a sudden, in a rash of bad publicity, they suddenly found a reliable source of vegetable rennet…… http://www.vegsoc.org/news/2007/mars.htm… however, you have to wonder if you can trust a company that claim its foods are veggie and yet they do not even know what a vegetarian is. Masterfoods chooses to use battery eggs in thier products, they have shown no interest in supporting better welfare for egg-layers despite a lot of lobbying. do you want to support that ?
