There have been false positive phencyclidine (PCP) results caused by Venlafaxine (effexor) with certain on-site routine urine-based drug tests. However, before your husband takes the drug test he should inform them of all medications he is on so that they will be aware of the possibility of positive results. For example, I take concerta which will show up positive for amphetimines on some drug tests, but my employer is aware that I am on it so they I don’t get in trouble for the positive result.
