Pfizer, the maker of Zoloft, reports that no trials have been done on Zoloft together with loss of hair. However here is one potential answer:

Fluoride, becasue it is a poison, can cause all sorts of harmful reactions in large concentrations. Along with its various other effects, it inhibits the thyroid gland. The thyroid produces thyroid hormones, that manage metabolic processes in the body.
