Connelly is the President of U.S. Operations for Eli Lilly & Company. She joined the company in 1983 as a sales representative and has moved through the ranks since then. Prior to her role as President, Connelly was senior vice president of human resources for Lilly and the vice president of human resources for pharmaceutical operations.

She has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Lycoming College in Pennsylvania and graduated from Harvard’s Advanced Management Program in 2000.
