Who is Barbara Desoer?
Desoer is the president of Bank of America Home Loans, a leading U.S. mortgage originator and servicer. She is part of the senior management team at Bank of America Corporation and reports to Chairman and CEO Ken Lewis. Desoer is responsible for about 20 percent of the U.S. mortgage origination market.
She took on her current role in mid-2008 when she lead the integration of Countrywide Financial Corporation with Bank of America, leading to the launch of the Bank of America Home Loans brand.
Prior to this, she served as Bank of America’s chief technology and operations officer, as well as having leadership positions in commercial lending, consumer products, retail banking and marketing.
Desoer has a B.A. in mathematics from Mount Holyoke College in 1974 and an MBA from University of California, Berkeley.
