What is an Expression of Interest?
An Expression of Interest is the way in which those people, who want to migrate to New Zealand under the Skilled Migrant Category, notify the NZIS of that desire. The Expression of Interest contains information the NZIS needs to determine whether they meet the prerequisites, and scores your employability and capacity building attributes. Expressions of Interest go into a Pool from which periodic selections of the highest ranked Expressions of Interest, based on the scores of Expressions of Interests in the Pool, are made. If your Expression of Interest is selected from the Pool it will undergo a preliminary checking and verification process to determine whether the claims made in your Expression of Interest are credible and legitimate. If your details are credible, you will be invited to formally apply for residence.
